The online Bingo awards are said to be nothing short of a spectacle, but not amid controversy. With an overabundance of websites in The UK promoting the game, there are a lot of accusations and allegations levelled against the governing body of having the award function rigged. A lot of deserving applicants are said to be left out with the verdict being labelled partisan. However, the second annual edition of the Online Bingo Industry Awards this year saw the crème de la crème of the UK corporate sector coming together under one roof to honour the innovative ways in which certain websites have revolutionized the concept of online Bingo over the past few years.

The panel comprised of elite executives employed at coveted positions passing an unbiased judgment through performance evaluations, user traffic and successfully concluded tournaments. A veteran in the ePayments vertical of the gaming industry, David Hunter brought to the panel a rich corporate experience that included his past as European MD at ClickandBuy, an enriching stint at British Telecom the currently held tenure as the UK CEO of PaySafeCard. Jessica Luthi promotes the website AffiliateProgramAdvice.com and has been a veteran independent consultant in the domain of affiliate marketing. She also holds the credit for being one of the first professionals to open the doors of online bingo to the UK. Other stalwarts included the group marketing Director of Gamesys, Michael Braga; Phil Fraser, a highly acclaimed name in the online Bingo industry and noted commentator plus promoter of Focus Online Management Ltd; Steve Cook, Marketing and Sales Head at Nyx interactive and Ravi Virpal from Bullet Business.

The nominees included many established and upcoming portals with the categories ranging from Online Bingo Operator and Best Online Bingo Portal to Best Newcomer and Best Affiliate Bingo Program. The deserving candidates took home the honours with a couple of surprise wins adding some spice to the gala event. Some favourites missed out leaving uncertainty looming over the atmosphere. The last question that however clouded everyone’s mind was, was the Awards ceremony really rigged? Officials have subsequently denied such reports calling them malicious and an attempt to sabotage the credibility of such events.
